Pamporovo is one of the biggest mountain resorts in Bulgaria, situated about 250 km South-east from the capital and 85 km South of the second large city Plovdiv. The resort is in the heart of Rhodopa Mountain at the foot of one the highest and charming peaks in this mountain - Snejanka (1926 m). The altitude of the resort is 1650 m over the sea level. Pamporovo is founded in 1933 and quickly becomes a favorite holiday place for many Bulgarian and foreign tourists. This place is famous to be one of the sunniest mountain resorts in the country. The sunny days are more than 240 per year.
The climate is mild with Mediterranean influence. The average temperature during the year is around 9° and the snow-cover is more than 150 cm. Here are not familiar sudden temperature changes or avalanches, which makes the resort safe and reliable.
There are many tracks in Pamporovo with different type and level of difficulty and this is why it’s convenient for professional and beginner skiers at the same time. The tracks have a common length more than 17 km. In the complex are available several lifts and tows with a capacity of more than 7000 people per hour. Pamporovo is suitable even for those that have never skied, because of its ski-schools which are one of the best in Europe.
The lovely nature and the crystal air here make the resort a preferred place for vacation during the winter and the hot summer days.
